Appointments

Cuffley Village Surgery is open and the switchboard is attended from 8am to 6.30pm, Monday, Tuesday and Thursday and 8am to 2pm on Wednesday and Friday. At other times a recorded message will tell you how to contact a doctor (please have a pen and paper ready).

Please note, Cuffley is now closed on Wednesday and Friday from 2pm. All services normally provided at these times will be available at Valley View on these days and Cuffley patients can phone Valley View on Wednesday and Friday afternoons.

Valley View Surgery is open and the switchboard is attended from 8am to 1pm and 2pm to 6.30pm, Monday to Friday.

Consultations with the doctors and nurses are by appointment only. If more than one member of your family needs to be seen, please make a separate appointment for each person.

We appreciate your right to confidentiality. However if you give the receptionist a brief outline of your problem she will be able to offer you an appropriate appointment or arrange for telephone advice.

Urgent appointments

If you feel your problem cannot wait, we will endeavour to deal with it the same day.

This may take the form of one of the doctors or nurses ‘triaging’ your complaint by discussing it over the phone. They may then give you advice, leave a prescription for collection or arrange an emergency appointment for you.

To request an urgent appointment (Monday to Friday) during opening times:

  • phone us on Cuffley Village Surgery 01707 875201 or Valley View Health Centre 01707 875223
  • visit the surgery and speak with a receptionist

When you get in touch, we’ll ask what you need help with.

We are dependent on your common sense and cooperation with requesting emergency appointments. Please help us to keep the system working by not abusing the emergency services we offer.

Routine appointments

To request a routine appointment in advance during opening times:

  • phone us on Cuffley Village Surgery 01707 875201 or Valley View Health Centre 01707 875223
  • visit the surgery and speak with a receptionist
  • use your NHS account (through the NHS website or NHS App) or SystmOnline to book an appointment, screening test or vaccination

When you get in touch, we’ll ask what you need help with.

We will use your answers to choose the most suitable doctor, nurse or healthcare professional to help you.

Enhanced Access

We are able to offer appointments on between 6:30pm and 8pm Monday-Friday and Saturday 9am-5pm, these are generally for commuters or patients who look after their elderly relatives during the day.

Hospital appointments

My Planned Care gives you advice and support while you wait and helps you to prepare for your hospital consultation, treatment, or surgery. This includes giving you information about waiting times at your hospital and other supporting and local services while you wait.

Your appointment

However you choose to contact us, we may offer you a consultation:

  • by phone
  • face to face at the surgery

Appointments by phone, video call or by text or email can be more flexible and often means you get help sooner.

Cancelling or changing an appointment

If you cannot keep an appointment, please inform us as soon as possible as this will assist in oversubscribed situations.

A GP Service 24 Hours a Day

Did you know you can access a GP 24 hours a day, 7 days a week?

Between 8am and 6.30pm you can contact Cuffley Village Surgery on 01707 875201 and Valley View Health Centre on 01707 875223.

Between 6.30pm and 8am you can dial 111 which is free from both landlines and mobiles.

  • Be asked to attend a local primary care centre
  • Receive a home visit from a doctor or nurse

Home visits

If you are housebound and need an appointment, we will do a home visit. We will phone you first to understand what you need.

To request a home visit, it’s helpful if you phone between 8.30am and 10am.
